Have to see what type of PDF you are working with and experiment. If the PDF is not crammed with text, then you should be able to read it. This is why people recommend a table due to the bigger screen. If the font is small, it will be difficult to read in a small screen. If the PDF is a bunch of scanned images, then you are at the mercy of the quality of the scan. You can look up definitions and highlight text. You will not be able to adjust the font size. If the PDF is text based, you can read it. Depending on your eyesight and the quality of the PDF, it can be done. Kindles are programed to handle PDFs natively. Generally kindles are too small to read PFDs comfortably. Sorry if the questions sound n00b-ish I just can't find the answers reading reviews of the plethora of Kindle models that there are.
